The
Coop
The guesthouse, known affectionately as The Coop, and the other
home place ranch buildings were built in 1918. In about 1957, The Coop was converted from a chicken coop or chicken house to a guest house as there were no extra bedrooms for guests in the main SN ranch house. In 1982, The Coop was renovated and an addition put on.
In 2004, this cozy 'house' was refurbished into its present state for a guest getaway complete with custom country-themed living area, kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms. If you like chickens, apples and daisies, this is your house!
In 2007, two new decks and a veranda that wraps around the house to connect the decks, was added. With this new addition, guests can sit out in comfy chairs and gaze up at the awesome sight of '16 Hill' where quite often, wildlife is grazing or passing through.
The Coop overlooks the main horse corral and a large corral where you can keep your own horses - if they need a holiday too!. Just taking in a big breath of this view is enough to put peace and tranquility into your soul right down to the core.
Just up the hill from the main ranch house, The Coop provides a self-contained relaxing home-away-from-home for guests wanting a rustic ranching experience! Complete with its own wood-burning stove, The Coop has a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom and 2 singles in another; and will sleep up to 4 people.
